How long will it take to receive my ALCAT Test Results?

Emails results are posted within 5 business days. Hard copies will be received within 10 business days via mail.

Is this a food allergy test?

The ALCAT Test is NOT a food allergy test. It is designed to test for intolerances, which have a delayed reaction.

Is the ALCAT Test covered by insurance?

Certain insurance policies will pay for all or part of ALCAT testing. Patients must contact their insurance company directly to see if the test is covered and what is necessary to file an insurance claim for reimbursement.

What are the medication restrictions for the ALCAT Test?

Antihistamines If possible wait 3 to 5 days before doing blood draw
Steroids: Such as Prednisone 5-10 mgs taken on a daily basis or long term. Mark requisition with medication & dosage.
Steroids: Oral Medrol Dose Pack – Wait 5 to 7 days after completing regime
Steroids: Topical Avoid for a minimum of 12-24 hours
Antibiotic Complete regime + wait 3-5 days before blood draw.
Antibiotic – Low dose Long term Low doses for (skin issues, Lymes disease, etc.) are ok – mark requisition with medication name, dosage and frequency.
Anticoagulant Anti-platelet 6-7 mgs ok, – mark requisition with medication name, dosage and frequency. Call nutrition if questions
Asthma If possible: Do not take medications or supplements 3 hours before blood draw OR take medications and supplements/vitamins after the blood draw.

Yes, blood samples will be taken by a medical professional and tested.

Is fasting required before taking the ALCAT Test?

No

What do the asterisks on the ALCAT Test results mean?

An asterisk represents your mild intolerances.

What do the blue boxes on the ALCAT Test results mean?

The blue boxes include items that should be removed from your diet due to reactions with other items.

What is the shipping procedure for the ALCAT Test?

We take care of shipping the same day as your scheduled blood draw.

I know I have an allergy to a food. Why is it on my acceptable food list/Green Column?

This is due to the fact that the ALCAT Test detects sensitivities/intolerances and NOT allergies.

Do I have to go through a Healthcare Provider?

No. However, unlike an over the counter home allergy test, we still require a blood draw provided by a medical professional and will conveniently schedule this at your home or office.

How much support is available after testing?

Each tester has access to a 30 minute post test review. In addition, each test result comes with a 52 page booklet titled Understanding Your Alcat Test Results.

Is there a draw fee?

When using one of our mobile services the cost is $50 per draw,in the US. *Canada may have additional fees)

Where do I have my sample drawn?

We will contact you to schedule a convenient time and location at either your home or office.

How much is shipping?

 Shipping is free on all tests. You should receive your kit within 2-3 business days.
